From Fear to Forever

When the sweet souls arrived in our care, they were scared and struggling. With proper medical treatment, nourishing food, and lots of love, everything began to change.

Today, they’re healthy, happy, safe and most of them are forever homes.

This is the power of rescue!
The power of compassion. ❤️

You can keep miracles like this happening with a small donation

Our Rescue Process

When a dog comes into our care, we follow a careful and structured process to ensure their health, safety, and best chance for a successful adoption.
Rescue & Veterinary Care

The first step in our rescue process is bringing the dog off the streets and providing the necessary initial veterinary care.

This includes testing for 4DX, CBC, and any other examinations or treatments recommended by the veterinarian. Every dog we take in is also spayed or neutered at the appropriate time, and begins their full vaccination schedule.

Boarding & Recovery

The second phase involves placing the dog in a paid boarding facility while we search for a sponsor (mum in distance) who can help cover the monthly boarding cost of 80€.

During this time, we closely monitor and evaluate the dog’s behavior with other dogs, children, and people, as well as continue to assess their overall health

Finding a Flight Volunteer

Once a flight volunteer is found (e.g,someone traveling to Canada), and the dog is fully vaccinated and ready to travel, we contact our partner rescues located near the airport.

Partner Rescue Placement

We work exclusively with organizations that are 100% foster-home based, ensuring that the dogs will continue their transition in a home environment rather than a shelter.

If the partner rescue is able to accept the dog into one of their foster homes, we begin preparing all required travel documentation.

Travel Preparation

At the same time, we start fundraising for travel expenses, which typically range from 300€ to 800€ per dog, depending on the airline and the dog’s size.

Larger dogs generally require more expensive tickets and travel crates. We then handle the travel arrangements according to the procedure explained in the “Flight Volunteer” section.

Foster Care & Adoption

After the dog arrives, our partner rescues keep us informed about how the dog is adjusting in the foster home. They also share updates when the dog is adopted, along with photos.

These updates are truly the most rewarding part of our work. For this reason, it is unfortunately not possible for us to directly find a home for a dog that remains on the street without first bringing the dog into our care and following the steps described above.

🐾 The Heart Behind Dandi Mission

In Memory of Lady Dandi 💖

Dandi Mission was founded in 2018, inspired by Aida’s deep love for her cherished dog, Lady Dandi. Her journey in rescue began with Max, the first dog she saved from a heartbreaking situation on the streets. This moment opened her eyes to the severe challenges faced by stray dogs in Albania.

Determined to make a difference, Aida expanded her efforts to protect and care for more animals in need. Throughout this journey, her husband has stood by her side, a valuable partner who shares the mission’s vision and passion.

Sadly, in 2019Lady Dandi passed away from an unexpected tumor. Yet, her spirit lives on. Through Dandi Mission, Aida honors her memory — rescuing each vulnerable life with the same love and dedication that Dandi once inspired.

Every Rescue Begins With Someone Who Cares

Give a Rescue Animal a Loving Home

Adopting a rescue animal means giving a dog or cat a second chance at life. Every animal in our care has been rescued from difficult circumstances and is waiting for a safe and loving home. Our adoption process ensures that each animal is placed in the right environment where they can thrive and become a cherished member of the family.

Support Our Rescue Work

Dandi Mission operates entirely through donations and volunteer support. Your contribution helps provide food, veterinary care, shelter, and transportation for rescued animals.

Every donation, no matter the size, helps us continue rescuing animals and preparing them for their forever homes.

Become Part of Our Mission

Volunteers play an important role in helping us continue our rescue work. Whether assisting with transportation, helping coordinate rescues, supporting fundraising efforts, or spreading awareness, every contribution helps save more lives.

Your time and dedication can make a real difference for animals who need help the most.

Our Limitations

As much as we want to help every animal, our capacity is limited. Being transparent about what we can and cannot manage allows us to provide the best possible care for the animals already in our responsibility.

Shelter Information

On-Site Boarding Care

We do not have our OWN shelter!

Our dogs are housed in a paid boarding, where caregivers live on-site.

Dogs live in small groups (maximum of 10), in open environments where they can socialize and play.

The monthly cost for care and food is €80 per dog. We are deeply grateful to sponsors and “mums from a distance” who support our dogs.

When space allows, we take in critical cases and foster them in our own apartment.

We also continuously care for community dogs and cats, providing food and veterinary care when needed.

Why our Rescue is Different?

Be Part of Their Story
Every dog you see here is, cared for, and loved because someone chose to help.

Every Dog Deserves A Family and Dignity

We believe no dog should die alone in a shelter without ever knowing the love of a family. Your support helps us give them that chance.

We believe the only humane and truly effective way to reduce the number of suffering stray dogs is through spay and neuter. Whenever possible, we actively support and invest in this effort to create long-term change.

Every donation goes directly toward improving the lives of the dogs in our care. When a dog needs medical treatment, rehabilitation, or comfort, we never hold back. We never deny necessary care.

We do not accept a life of isolation for our dogs. They receive daily interaction, playtime, and human connection, because emotional wellbeing is just as important as physical health.

Even though our dogs are boarded 1.5 hours away, we are there 1–2 times every week. We personally check on each dog, monitor their health, and try to give them the affection they deserve.

With strong experience in management, administration, and logistics, we ensure that every resource you entrust to us is used responsibly, efficiently, and where it matters most.

With over 10 years of hands-on experience in complex medical cases, we are able to give dogs a real chance at recovery, no matter how challenging their condition may be.

We are a small team of two, guided by integrity and responsibility. If we say we cannot take in another dog, it is only because we refuse to compromise the care and attention our supported dogs already receive
